A player’s pre-claim checklist
Claiming a bonus takes a couple of minutes; undoing a bad claim is generally impossible. The checklist below is the short version of everything in this guide, arranged in the order you would actually use it. Run through it before you opt in, and the offer stops being a gamble on whether you understood it.
One: confirm you are eligible
Check that you qualify under the operator’s definition of a new or eligible customer, including the rules about household, device and payment method. This is the earliest checkpoint and the one most often skipped, because it feels obvious until an offer fails.

If you are unsure, ask support before registering rather than after depositing. Eligibility is a factual question with a factual answer, and the operator’s terms and conditions define it precisely.
Two: read the four clauses
Find the wagering requirement, the contribution table, the maximum stake rule and the expiry window. Read them before anything else about the offer, because together they determine whether the bonus is reachable for you.
Write the answers down if that helps. The four clauses convert a promotion into a concrete task, and a task is much easier to judge than a headline — especially when the headline was designed to be judged alone.
Three: check the value honestly
- What is actually credited — credit, spins, or a mix.
- What the maximum win cap is, if there is one.
- Which games contribute and at what rate.
- How long you have to complete the conditions.
- Whether you would play this way without the bonus.
That last question is the one that matters most. If the offer requires you to play differently from how you normally would, it is changing your behaviour, which is what promotions are designed to do.
Four: set your limits first
Configure your deposit or loss limit, and a time limit if you tend to lose track of sessions. Do this before claiming, so that the bonus is layered on top of limits you chose rather than the other way around.
If a bonus would only be reachable by raising those limits, that is a signal to decline the bonus rather than to raise the limits. The tools exist for exactly this situation, and they are described in the operator’s terms.
Five: activate and verify
Follow the activation route exactly: opt in, enter the code if one is required, and make the qualifying deposit in the way the promotion specifies. Then confirm that the bonus has appeared before you start playing.
If it has not appeared, stop and contact support immediately with the details. Playing on and hoping introduces a situation where the conditions may already be running while you have no record of the offer.
Six: play inside the rules
Stay within the maximum stake, play contributing games, and check the wagering progress and the deadline as you go. None of this is difficult, and all of it is specified in the terms you already read at step two.
If it becomes clear the conditions will not be met, decide deliberately: keep going on a revised plan, or cancel the bonus and protect your own funds. Either is reasonable; drifting into expiry is not.
The reason for the order
The sequence matters. Eligibility first prevents a failed claim, terms second prevents a bad claim, value third prevents a pointless one, limits fourth protects you whatever happens, and activation and play last keep the whole thing inside the rules.
| Step | Check | Why it comes here |
|---|---|---|
| Eligibility | You qualify under the operator’s rules | Prevents a claim that cannot succeed |
| Four clauses | Wagering, contribution, stake cap, expiry | Prevents a claim you cannot complete |
| Value | What is credited and what it caps at | Prevents a claim not worth making |
| Limits | Deposit, loss and time limits set | Protects you regardless of the outcome |
| Activation | Opt in, deposit, confirm the credit | Prevents a bonus that never existed |
| Play | Stay inside the rules and the clock | Prevents forfeiture through a breach |
Run the checklist once and it becomes a habit, and the habit is the entire point of this guide. Read the operator’s terms and conditions for every figure that applies to your offer, and finish as you started: no bonus, strategy or prediction can guarantee a win.
